manufacturer function as a counterpart of the
designer, raising the negotiation position of the
company because such products involve levels of
technical expertise that are often lacking, and
are sought out by designers. A company that
wants to make its mark in this sector, then, has
invest in expert, qualified resources, to create a
team that can collaborate from preliminary
studies to post-sales services. The managers we
interviewed all emphasized the importance, for
the sale of this type of product, of a technical-
marketing organization capable of establishing
an effective dialogue with designers, general
contractors, and all the figures involved in
worksite management, because every
construction site is different and calls for
rigorous assessment, to respond to increasingly
urgent issues and schedules.
Operable partitions
When it comes to the subdivision of spaces, we
must also mention the role played by operable
partitions, with which the concept of flexibility
shifts into a true situation of spatial
dynamism. These products are appreciated
because they enter the office environment as an
ideal solution for meeting areas, training rooms
and co-working spaces that require constant
reconfiguration.
The market confirms the rise of this type of
partition, thanks to diversification of product
ranges, combining the opaque panel solutions
with glass operable partitions that meet the
needs of innovation and the trends in progress
in the office in terms of both aesthetics and
performance.
To clarify the phases of this transformation we
talked with the engineer Enzo Pezzi, president
of Anaunia, who explained: “Operable
partitions are becoming more ‘genteel’ in terms
of appearance and finishes, becoming true
design products capable of supplying the image
sought by the designer. Since the world of the
office is moving towards greater transparency,
manufacturers have concentrated on finding
solutions that combine transparency with
acoustic insulation. Anaunia – Pezzi continues

that permit the creation of spaces that are not
just acoustically insulated, but also offer
optimal comfort, with high performance in
terms of acoustic correction and reverberation.
To make the product even more competitive, we

use, leading to achievement of the goal of a
zero-maintenance operable partition.”
