President
is one of the new products that are
part of the Snowsound® project: a technology
patented by Caimi Brevetti that permits selective
acoustic correction in a simple, rapid way. To
have good acoustics, in fact, it does not suffice
to simply reduce reverberation; you have to be
able to control it, to obtain adequate balancing
that conserves nuances while making sound
pleasant and intelligible.
The design of President, by Philippe Nigro,
produces a delicate balance between the pursuit
of improved acoustic performance and the desire
to generate new functions, new solutions and
new languages capable of interpreting the
technology. "Sound, like light, if it is not
controlled and carefully designed, can become
irritating, transforming into noise to the
detriment of quality of life in a space, no matter
how beautiful it might be” Nigro explains.
President gets away from the classic type of
acoustic panels, becoming a true decor feature
of great aesthetic impact, conceived to enhance
and decorate interiors, returning to the great
Italian tradition of textile furnishings in a
modern, functional way.
Two products in one
President has been created as a synthesis
between the technical object and the
architectural object; it is conceptually the
combination of two product typologies: one for
performance (the acoustic panel) and one for
decoration (the boiserie).
The solution with sliding modular guides
permits the creation of compositions of any size,
with free combination of panels of different sizes
available in a wide range of colors. The guides in
dark wood or shiny aluminium area available in
three sizes (120-160-200cm), while the panels
come in five.
The panels
can slide freely to be overlapped to
boost absorption or to combine colors. Wall
portions can be left free temporarily, for access
to physical plant systems or a safe, or
permanently, to frame compartments, monitors
or openings. Moving and overlapping the panels,
it is possible to acoustically adjust the
composition.

Acoustics and the environment
The Snowsound® technology makes it possible to
achieve Class A acoustic absorption, in keeping
with UNI EN ISO 11654 standards. The panels
are made entirely of polyester, and are therefore
100% mono-materic and recyclable, without the
need to separate the outer fabric from the
internal sound absorbing material. The
components in plastic or metal are also made
with just one material and are easy to
disassemble, leading to 100% recycling of the
whole product. The panel, with its combination
of external fabric and internal sound absorbing
material, is rated in Class 1 for Italy for flame
reaction, and Euroclass B-s2,d0.
The Snowsound® technology by Caimi Brevetti
has won a prize at the "Innovation Design and
Engineering Awards” during the CES 2014 fair,
the world’s leading fair of electronics. This award
joins 8 other international honors assigned to
Snowsound® products.
The wall attachment system
has been
conceived to permit custom cutting of the tracks,
also allowing assembly on the entire wall or
between columns.
President is coordinated with the other product
collections that use the patented Snowsound®
technology: each line resolves the problem of
environmental acoustics in a different way, not
just through excellent absorption characteristics,
but also and above all in pursuit of improvement
of the quality of sound.
SNOWSOUND® technology
The patented Snowsound® technology is based
on the use of panels composed of variable-
density material that permits selective sound
absorption at different frequencies, optimizing
environmental acoustics in spite of the very
small thickness of the panels.
The panel surfaces are covered with Trevira CS®
polyester fabric, solidly applied to the inner
padding with which it forms a single, seamless
